Some of the most common questions we are asked are:

 

I still have 6 inches of fuel in my tank, how can I be out?

 

Depending on how the tank is configured, the fuel line may not pull the fuel from the tank when it gets past a certain point.  

 

How long will 50 gallons last?

 

That is almost impossible to determine.  It depends on how well the house is insulated, how high the thermostat is set, and the condition of the ductwork.  A standard 85,000 BTU furnace uses ¾ gallon per hour.  If the furnace runs an average of 1/3 of a day (8 hours) it would burn 6 gallons per day.  We have some customers that use 10 to 12 gallons per day.
