Duct Cleaning

 


You would be surprised to know what dust, dirt, pollen and other irritants are pulled into your ductwork and are circulated throughout your home or office every time the heat or air conditioning is turned on.  You clean up after you do some remodeling, but what got in to your ductwork?


What should you know about Duct Cleaning?

It is not just the ductwork that needs cleaning but the entire HVAC system should be cleaned at the same time.  Failure to clean all the components can result in re-contamination of the entire system.  There are two key components to the cleaning process; breaking the contaminants loose and collection of the contaminants. An agitation device like brushes, air whips or compressed skipper balls is used to break loose the contaminants.  During the cleaning, the entire HVAC system is placed under continuous negative pressure (vacuum) which allows the system and ductwork to be brushed and cleaned removing particles as they become airborne.  This process provides a clear passage of particles from your ductwork directly out to our equipment without contaminating your home or business.

Duct Repair

Leaking ductwork can certainly cool your attic or crawl space, but is that where you want to spend your money?  Some of the primary causes of defective ductwork are aging, water, workmen in the attic and of course animals and rodents.  You can get a “Blower Door Test” done by FPL to determine the extent of your leakage and if you qualify for a rebate on the repair.   We are a participating licensed contractor that can do the necessary repairs or replacement of the ductwork.
